Big prize for Jonah at Terafinal

Jonah Willow was unbeaten and equal first on score at the annual UK Chess Challenge, this year held in Peterborough on September 15th-16th

In a departure from the previous format of all play all, the competition was split into age categories with larger prizes in the older sections.

Jonah played in the U18, and only missed out on first due to the use of a tiebreak system of sum of opponents scores. This result won him £1250 in prize money!

In the Under 14s, Aditya Munshi and Armaan Gogia were joint 5th on 4/6. Adi won £50 on the tiebreak system. Anita Somton unluckily missed out on best girl prize in this section when she lost her final game and finished on 3pts, the same score as Susie Wang.

In the U12s Alexandra Arlachova scored 1.5pts.

For all the players qualifying to the Terafinal was a great achievement, congratulations to them all!
