New season kicks off with win for new first team

The delayed start to the new league season started with a home win for West Nottingham 1.

The players, of what would have been WN2, are playing in the second division and getting used to the shorter time control of 65m + 10s increments, or 75m for all moves.

A quick win by Alexandra on the bottom board enabled the rest (Hambel - the captain), Vidura and Armaan to draw and secure the win against Nomads 1.

This season we are also hosting Beeston Chess Club for their home matches, as they don't have a suitable room for "proper" chess at their pub venue. Beeston were impressive with a 4-0 win, and are also in Div 2 so our team will be playing them soon!
