Joint 3rd for Shabir at 4NCL Spring BH Congress

Shabir Okhai was impressive, scoring 5/7 with just one loss in this strong Open, held in Basingstoke from 24-27th May.

Shabir won £50 for the best rating performance, underlying how well he stepped up his play and sustaining it for 7 long rounds.

Other West Nottingham players took part in this event.

In the U2050 Vidura Mendis scored 1.5pts. Ross Murphy finished on 1pt but withdrew halfway through the competition.

In the U120 section Arjuna Mendis scored 2pts. Both he and Vidura skipped the last round of what was a long tournament.
