Success for our juniors at East Midlands Grand Prix

Many of our juniors took place in this annual event, 6 rounds of rapidplay over two Saturdays at Nottingham High School

The time control was 25mins + 10s increments, and was run by our junior coach Ed Jones, with arbiting by Hambel Willow and controlling by Simon Scott.

In the U14s, Eldars Gulijevs was unbeaten on 6/6 to win outright, followed by Tomas Matthews-Asensio in 2nd place on 5pts. Maksim Krasnov was 3rd on 4pts. Also playing were Isaac Keenan (3.5pts), Alex Clements (3) and Jonah Tomsett (2.5).

In the U11s, Frank Richmond was joint-first with 5.5pts. Oddly there were no other West Nottingham U11s playing!

In the U10s, Yash Handa was 2nd with 5pts followed closely by Artemijs Gulijevs in 3rd with 4pts.

None of our players were in the U9s and U8s, but let's hope some of the players come here soon.

All the results and final crosstables can be found on chess-results.
