Triple success in County semi-final matches

All three of our teams were successful in their semi-final matches this month, and West Nottingham players were in all three of them!

The Minor Counties match was held in Syston against Leicestershire. Despite bringing out their big guns, including GM Mark Hebden, Leicestershire were unable to turn the Notts tide. On board 1 Alex Posazhennikov drew with Hebden, while Mark Kenyon drew comfortably and Jonah Willow won. Final score was 9.5 - 6.5. Notts will play Suffolk in the Final.

In the Under 140s, Notts beat Kent 9 - 7. Alan Kenyon unfortunately lost but was on Board 3, but Robert Willoughby was able to score a draw. They will play Hampshire in the Final.

Finally, the Under 120s were convincing 7.5 - 4.5 winners against Staffordshire, who beat them earlier in the season. Hambel Willow, playing on board 1, was first to finish with a victory which encouraged the rest of the team. Simon Scott also won. They will play Hertfordshire.

The finals will take place at the Trident Centre, Warwick, on July 12th. Good luck to all the teams!
