Success for U120 Team in County Finals

The U120s were the only winners of the three teams contesting the County Finals at the Trident Centre near Warwick.

West Nottingham was represented in all three finals.

In the Minor Open, Jonah Willow recovered from a pawn down to draw, as the team were defeated 9.5-6.5 by Suffolk.

For the U140s Alan Kenyon, Robert Willoughby and Hambel Willow were all participants. Despite being in strong positions in many of their games, the team lost 9-7 to Hampshire. Alan drew on board 3, Robert won a good game and Hambel lost a difficult game, having been promoted from the U120 team.

Finally, Simon Scott played board 5 for the U120s team, drawing after 5 hours after the team had already secured victory 7-5 against Hertfordshire.
